Great escape for 229 people After AI plane engine fire

An engine of a Riyadh-bound Air India alike with 229 bodies on lath bent bonfire on Friday while taxiing at the Mumbai airport, banishment it to arrest abandonment and evacuation of cartage through emergency avenue chutes.

All the 213 cartage and 16 aggregation associates of AI-829 flight were safe as the bonfire was put out immediately, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) admiral said alike as Air India derostered an aircraft aliment engineer, awaiting investigation.

As the Boeing B 747-400 alike was taxiing on the aerodrome for ascent at about 1050 hrs, a bonfire was detected in one of the two larboard ancillary engines and the aircraft was brought to a halt. The emergency assignment was activated, they said.

Fire tenders rushed to douse the bonfire that was arresting from airport terminal, eyewitnesses said. Black smoke billowed out from the plane's agent as the bodies were abandoned through emergency avenue chutes and taken to safety.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken up analysis into the incident. "We accept accomplished a probe," an official said.

"An aircraft architect amenable for authoritative abandonment of the flight was derostered awaiting enquiry as per practice," an Air India agent said.

When asked whether the bonfire was acquired due to an oil leak, a DGCA official said, "It is too aboriginal to say anything."
